CD observations
I have a lot of CDs and often, I would like to listen to something but have limited time, and I miss a list of the albums with total time of each. So, I started writing down times of every CD I listen to. This led to certain observations.
- I learned, for instance, that Firefox AK's "Color the Trees" (45:43) is just one second shorter than Jakuzi's "Fantezi Muzik" (45:44).
- Also, there is an interesting relation of minutes to seconds on Terre Thaemlitz's "Tranquilizer." It's 68-minute and 34-second long, 2:1.
- An impressive feat is that they somehow squeezed in over 87 minutes on "Muting the Noise 01." I was always under the impression that there is 74-minute and 79-minute limit for CDs. But hey, more music for me.
- Another example of 2-to-1 is "To Record Only Water For Ten Days" from John Frusciante, with 42 minutes and 21 seconds.
- Björk's "Greatest Hits" have mirrored minutes and seconds: 72:27.
- Mephisto Walz's "Eternal Deep" is 54:54. The first album in my collection that I found to have the exact same number of minutes and seconds.
- Out of Tune's "Lights So Bright" has exactly the same time as Jakuzi's "Fantezi Muzik" (45:44).
- Danny Elfman's "Batman" takes 54:54, same like Mephisto Walz above.
